Cutibacterium acnes is an anaerobic bacterium that cannot survive in the presence of oxidative stress — it dies on contact with these radicals through a purely physical/chemical mechanism. Because resistance requires genetic mutation in response to a specific molecular target (as happens with antibiotics), C. acnes cannot develop resistance to BPO. This makes Paknet Creamy Wash valuable for long-term acne management, and particularly useful in patients with antibiotic-resistant acne strains.
