Say goodbye to stubborn pimples while you sleep with Derma Angel Night Patch! This ultra-thin, waterproof patch is designed to absorb pus, reduce redness, and speed up the healing process overnight. Enriched with extra-strength hydrocolloid and salicylic acid, it gently exfoliates your skin to prevent new breakouts while targeting existing blemishes. The patch adheres seamlessly to your skin, staying put for up to 8 hours without leaving any scars or residue behind. Wake up to clearer, smoother skin with this easy-to-use, painless solution.
Salicylic Acid, Methylcellulose, Glyceryl Rosinate, and Paraffinum Liquidum. Together, these ingredients work to gently exfoliate the skin, absorb impurities, and protect the affected area, promoting faster healing and preventing further breakouts.
FAQs
Q1. How does Derma Angel Acne Patch Plus Night actually work — what is the mechanism?
A1. The Derma Angel Night Patch uses a two-part mechanism. Methylcellulose in the patch matrix is a hygroscopic polymer that actively absorbs the wound fluid (sebum, pus, lymph fluid) exuded by an occluded inflamed pimple — the patch draws out the lesion's contents without squeezing, preventing the mechanical skin trauma and resulting PIH that comes from picking. As fluid is absorbed, the patch visibly turns white overnight. Simultaneously, Salicylic Acid embedded in the patch penetrates through the softened pimple surface into the comedone plug and follicle wall — Salicylic Acid is lipid-soluble (unlike AHAs), enabling it to dissolve through the sebum-filled follicle and exfoliate the keratinocyte lining from within, loosening the blockage at its structural source. No other acne patch mechanism addresses both the surface fluid and the underlying follicular plug.
Q2. Why does the Night Patch turn white during wear?
A2. The patch turning white or opaque is the visible confirmation of the Methylcellulose absorption mechanism working — it is drawing wound fluid out of the pimple into the patch matrix. The degree of whitening corresponds to the volume of fluid extracted from the lesion. A visibly white patch with a flattened pimple underneath in the morning indicates successful overnight drainage. If the patch remains fully clear, the pimple may be at a stage (early nodular or deep cystic acne) where the lesion fluid is too deep within the dermis to be effectively extracted at the skin surface — these types respond better to dermatological intervention than to surface patches.
Q3. Should the Night Patch be applied to a popped or unpopped pimple?
A3. Apply to an unpopped pimple for maximum efficacy. The intact pimple surface allows proper Methylcellulose occlusion, and Salicylic Acid penetrates more effectively through the softened intact skin than through an already-disrupted lesion. Applied to an already-popped pimple, the patch still provides protective occlusion and accelerates healing — but the primary fluid-absorption mechanism is less efficient without intact lesion pressure. Never apply to broken, bleeding, or open wound skin. Clean the area and pat completely dry before application — skin moisture dramatically reduces patch adhesion.
Q4. Can multiple Night Patches be applied to different pimples simultaneously?
A4. Multiple patches can be applied simultaneously to separate pimples on different areas of the face. Each patch works independently over the individual lesion it covers. Avoid applying over the same lesion in overlapping layers. Remove each patch gently in the morning — if adhesion is strong, hold a warm damp cloth over the patch for 30 seconds before peeling from one edge slowly, to avoid pulling the surrounding skin.
Q5. How does the Derma Angel Night Patch prevent PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation)?
A5. PIH is caused by inflammatory melanocyte stimulation — the more intense and prolonged the inflammatory response (whether from the pimple itself or from the trauma of squeezing), the more PIH follows. The Night Patch reduces PIH risk through three pathways: the patch barrier physically prevents the picking and squeezing that cause the worst PIH-inducing skin trauma; Methylcellulose absorption reduces the pimple's inflammatory fluid load overnight, shortening the inflammation duration; and Salicylic Acid's resolution of the comedone plug prevents the pimple from persisting or recurring at the same site. Shorter inflammation duration and zero mechanical trauma = significantly reduced PIH risk compared to untreated or manually manipulated pimples.
