FAQs
Q1. What is Minoxidil 5% in Adonis Biodens-Pro Topical Solution and how does it stimulate hair growth?
A1. Minoxidil is a vasodilator originally developed as an oral antihypertensive drug that was found to cause hypertrichosis (excess hair growth) as a side effect — leading to its development as a topical hair loss treatment. At 5% concentration, Minoxidil widens (dilates) the blood vessels around hair follicles, increasing oxygen, blood flow, and nutrient delivery to the follicle. It also prolongs the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and causes premature catagen follicles (those in the shedding phase) to re-enter anagen earlier. The result is thicker, longer hair growth over months of consistent daily use.
Q2. How long before Adonis Biodens-Pro Topical Solution shows visible results?
A2. Initial results typically begin at 3–4 months of consistent twice-daily application. Early response (first 4–6 weeks) may include a temporary increase in hair shedding — this is normal, as Minoxidil causes existing telogen (resting) hairs to shed to be replaced by new anagen hairs. The shedding is not hair loss acceleration; it signals the product is working. Peak results are generally visible at 6–12 months of uninterrupted use. Photographs taken monthly are the most objective way to track progress, as daily comparison can be misleading.
Q3. Can Adonis Biodens-Pro 5% Minoxidil be used by women?
A3. Minoxidil is approved for use in both men and women for androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). However, 5% Minoxidil (vs. the 2% traditionally recommended for women) should only be used by women under dermatologist supervision due to the risk of hypertrichosis (facial hair growth) with higher concentrations. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use Minoxidil.
Q4. What happens if I stop using Adonis Biodens-Pro Topical Solution?
A4. Minoxidil requires indefinite continued use to maintain results. It does not address the underlying hormonal cause of pattern hair loss (DHT-mediated follicle miniaturisation); it only sustains hair growth by ongoing vasodilation. If use is discontinued, hair grown or maintained during treatment will typically shed within 3–6 months and revert toward the original hair loss pattern. This is not unique to Biodens-Pro — it applies to all Minoxidil topical solutions.
Q5. How should Adonis Biodens-Pro Topical Solution be applied correctly?
A5. Apply 1 mL (approximately 20 drops from the dropper) directly to the scalp in the affected areas twice daily — morning and evening. Part the hair to expose the scalp, apply the solution, and spread with fingertips. Do not rinse off for at least 4 hours after application. Allow to dry fully before going to bed to avoid transfer to pillow fabric. Wash hands immediately after application. Do not apply to irritated, sunburned, or abraded scalp.
